We are staying at the HOJOs from May 29 to June 8. We were told the rooms were on the highway side. I think freeway is more like it. I'm curious as to how loud the rooms really are. We usually stay at the Desert Palms and like it alot. We were told how nice the HOJO is, so were going to give the Kid's suite a try. We really love the rooms with the bunk beds. Does anyone knows if the upper floors are better , for sound,or if it just doesn't matter, let me know . Husky
Hi Husky, We recently returned from a 10 night stay in one of the Hojo's Kid's Suites. We were on room 1402, which was on the 4th floor. This room was at the elevator end of the building (last room on floor).
You can hear a bit of freeway noise, but I found it actually created it's own 'white noise" and helped me sleep at night. Halfway through our stay a gentleman came and put up some extra noise insulation around the balcony door which made it a lot quieter still. Of course if you are in your room a lot during the day you will be able to hear a lot more noise because of increased traffic, but at night it quietens down a lot and I hardly noticed it at all.
The suites are fabulous, very comfortable and spacious, and great value for money. The decor is fresh and new, with a great Pirate theme and funky colour scheme (not to mention flat screen wall mounted tvs in each room!). I don't think you could find a nicer suite for the price. We stayed at quite a few hotels during our US trip, from 3-5 stars, and the Hojo was my favourite hands down. My husband and kids enjoyed it every bit as much as me. We will definitely return to the Hojo's one day and will have no hesitation in staying in a Kid's Suite.
Our whole Hojo's experience was excellent and if you choose to stay there I hope you have as much fun as we did.
