(I don't think HOJO's would expect us grownups to crouch down that low. ;) ) I was just thinking it would help make the room more special to the little ones that they could 'go' on their own, and prevent me from having to lug one more thing out (such as a portable potty seat, insert for the toilet, etc.) Honestly though, I doubt they do it becuase that would require major reworking of the plumbing system.

Heather, perhaps the compromise would be "grownup" toilets in both bathrooms but a portable potty or insert in the kids bathroom for younger children. This could be kept with a step stool to access the basin and in this way, the kids bathroom is useable by both big and little kids.

What do you think Lorealle?

Oh... hee hee I thought you meant a little toilet in the kdis bathroom and a big one in the other bathroom - so that would eliminate the usefulness of one whole bathroom

I never used potty seats for my kids - never wanted the bother - the just balanced real good! hee hee

They did use a stool alot though - so I can see why so many parents are asking for that.... Would be handy tucked under the sink of all rooms as many smaller familys might not use the suites but would still love a stool!

I know there is the issue of them being yet another thing to steal/monitor/clean/lookafter... but it has so many uses for little kids it would be fantastic to have!

Wish the kids suites were available for June next year.
What would I like to see?
A king or 2 queens in the main room, neutral, relaxing colours and a tv.
In the kids room, as many families have more than 2 kids maybe some different sleeping options to cater for larger families eg in the kids rooms, 2 doubles or 2 bunks and 2 singles. Bright themes (why not something like Peter Pan that has pirates and fairies and covers all kids? and a tv or small drawing table would be good for down time. Everyone needs that on holidays!
Coffee maker, fridge and microwaves are essential, particularly when travelling with young children. A table with four chairs.
Shower over bath in the kids bathroom and possibly a fold up change table that can be borrowed from the front office or tucked away when not being used. A smaller kids toilet or little step would be very handy for many families (our little one will be three when we visit next year).
You can guarantee that when people get word of these rooms being available, you will not be able to keep up with demand. Hotel rooms just don't cut it anymore for families. You might need to convert more rooms than you were planning (or put connecting doors in some of your standard rooms!)

I have a feeling that even though there has been a lot of requests for themes that are Disneyish - they could get more than just a "tisk tisk" if they were to use a disney theme without paying some signifigant royalty money to Disney...

Everything disney is BIG time copyrighted and licenced. From what I understand of the regulations you can use the images for private use - in other words if you wanted to paint Simba on your kids walls you can legally do so.... you decorate a T shirt for you to wear, ect ect... but as soon as you profit from that image you have broken the law (you cannot start selling the shirts you made)

So If HoJo's started advertising their kids rooms with Peter Pan ( or any other disney theme) on the walls, and charging you to stay in said room ( hee hee and I have a feeling the kids suites will not be free) they will have broken quite a few laws and will have high powered Disney lawyers breathing down their necks faster than you can say "oops"

ANd I for one would rather have a generic priate than to pay a fortune to stay in a room that had to pay for disney licencing - not that they would likely get approval with the proximity to the disney hotels anyways!

This is a very good point- which is why we decided to do pirates instead of Pirates. :]

Any chance of even a hint of an idea about time frame and cost for this type of room?
Trying to plan ahead to our next Disneyland vacation...
Current vacation is only 18 sleeps away!

Unfortunately, I don't really know at this point!

We are still in the process of firming up the design plan for the room [choosing textiles, artwork, lighting fixtures, etc]. Once that has been completed, we will need to do a 'mock-up' of one room to see how all the design elements fit together. Once we've reached that step, our owner- who is playing a very active role in these design of these Suites- will have final say and will let us know about any changes that need to occur. If there are changes, we will need to fix those, and let him look again.

This process will continue until he is satisfied.

Once he has given us his approval/go-ahead, we will begin construction on the rooms. It will require walls to be cut into [for connecting doors], and the reconfiguration of wires within at least two of the walls in each Suite. Then the textiles, furniture, lighting, artwork etc. will be brought in. Then finally, the rooms will be ready. But because of all these different factors involved, we do not yet have a timeframe.

I promise that I will do my best to keep everyone updated on our progress- so you can definitely check back here for information at any time! And of course, I will do my best to answer your questions to the best of my ability. :]

Hope this helps shine a little more light on where we are! I know it seems like this is taking forever- but we just Really Want for this to be Perfect! :D

Have a great weekend everybody!

A child sized table and chairs would give the kids an area to play with their Disney souvenirs. To eat or color at a small table would be comfortable for them. On many hotel stays I've had to put my Toddler on an adult sized chair and scoot her into an adult sized table to eat or play with her toys. It never works! As a previous Pre-school teacher, I know that a child will immediately go straight to a small table and chair with enthusiasm! It's their size and they can do what they want there. It's so hard to have to keep them on top of the beds because there isn't another place in the room that 's just right for them. Poor little guys, they get so bored being surrounded by everything adult.
