What determines an ET date?

Postby Jake&Eli'smom » Thu Oct 29, 2009 10:36 am

I was just wondering how the days that will be discounted are determined? Is it based on how much you are booked up?
My husband and I are in "disagreement" on when we should book our hotel. I say we book it ASAP so we don't loose out, especially since the Disney view rooms are back. But he's on a wait and see and since you just put up some April dates he wants to wait to see if our days go on. If we book and our days do go up can we call and get the ET rate? And even if they don't there is still a 15% discount right...kinda like a don't pay the tax :D We convinced a lot of the family to come this time so we're going to need 3 rooms so it would be smart to book soon...right? We would need 2 entertainment cards though, right?

Thanks for any help you can provide and I can't wait till April and the California sun...I think it's suppose to snow here today brrrrr

Hi Jake&Eli'smom! :]

Our ET Calendar Availability is based on our projected and actual occupancy as determined by our General Manager and Director of Sales.

In times of the year when we typically expect to be full- the ET Rate is only available as a 15% discount. During slower times of the year, the ET Rate is available at the full discount. That's why, sometimes months in advance, we are able to have the ET Rate open at the full discount, and then it becomes unavailable as those dates fill up. It's also why sometimes the rate is not available until the dates get closer and we realize that we have more rooms available than we had anticipated.

Because things change from year to year, as well as from month to month, we never quite know for sure what dates we will end up opening or closing for the ET Rate- which is why we cannot predict ET availability many months out. And that's also why we always recommend early bookings- because the rates generally are only going to go up as the dates get closer. So if you lock in the lowest available rate and the rates do go up- you still get the low rate that you booked at. In the event that you book a higher rate that drops as the dates approach- if you call our In-House Reservations Team to let us know, we can change your reservations to reflect the new, lower rate for you. Additionally, if the ET Rate was not available when you initially booked, but becomes available as your dates approach- we can change that for you, too! :]

I hope that this helps! Please feel free to give us a call at 714-776-6120 and ask for In-House Reservations if you have any other questions.
