Saving a few pennies...

Postby vacationers » Mon Jun 09, 2008 8:08 am

Being that the Hojo offers little refrigerators, we took full advantage of that. We drove down the road for a few minutes and hit up the Target and got bread, sandwich meat, cheese, and some chips, water, juice and were able to save a bit of money by walking back to the hotel about lunch time, to eat, take a rest, swim a bit, then head back later. Eating out adds up very fast, so this way we were able to pinch some pennies, and I strongly recommend it!!!

I agree! We ran to the grocery store, and picked up some sandwich materials, cereal, etc. Also, bottled water for Disney, so that we didn't spend a ton at the park for it!
If you don't want to get groceries delivered, the front desk can give you great directions, and there's a lot of stores close by.

We bought a 24pk of water at Vons for $4.99. ( And went through it all )
24 bottles at Disneyland = About $72.00 ( $3.00 a bottle )

Are any of these grocery stores within walking distance with a 7 year old??
I will not have a rental car while I am there and cannot get groceries delivered as I am Canadian.. They won't accept a Canadian issued Credit Card for payment.
Any ideas for groceries would be great!!

I have just placed an online order with Albertson's for hotel delivery and used my Canadian issued visa without problem. Von's wouldn't accept it but it wasn't an issue on the Albertson's site.

Oh darn, seriously? I really really don't want to cab or bus it to the grocery store :(
I wonder if there's any way around this, like maybe if they take paypal, or if you can pay HoJo's with your credit card for the groceries (ie. added on to your bill, or authorize credit card payment to them before arriving) and the hotel can pay the grocery store?

Is this still the policy?
Can I use my Canadian Credit card?
