Hi Lorealle,

My son is severlly allergic to all things DAIRY. Since you don't carry any Soy based products, and since I'm from Canada, planning to visit DL in early Feb, and will be booking with your hotel within the next month or 2, what stores close by carry soy based products?? Will be driving down to DL so transportation is not a prob. Vons and Albertsons will not accept CDN credit cards from what I've been told, so that's out for us. Any information regarding this would be appreciated, especially if there is a place close by that has dairy free alternatives for my younger son. Thankyou for your time, and have a great day!!

Do the Lanyards in the gift shop have a clear plastic pouch that would hold a regular Disney Paper Ticket ? We need to get a few and were wondering if the ones in the gift shop would work. I would also appreciate knowing how much they are.

Vons and Albertsons will not accept CDN credit cards from what I've been told, so that's out for us.

We used Canadian Credit cards at Vons when we were there ( we drove down from BC)

Our debit cards do not work at the tills pretty much anywhere ( we didn't even try on that trip as we had found that out in the past, because their debit cards are associated with a CC company - Visa M/C what have you, our system is completly diffrent - just like when they come here their 'debit' cards will process as a CC on our systems) anyways but we never had a problem with Canadian Credit cards anywhere on our trip

That was 2 years ago so if something has changed I would appreciated being corrected

P.S. make sure you bring your safeway card if you are shopping at Vons ( same company) or fill out the forms to get a Vons card on your first trip there - it will save you a TON!

Both my husband and I have used our Canadian visa cards @ Albertson's (CIBC & Vancity credit union) with no problem. Actually we almost exclusively use visa when in the states and rarely have a problem. Never with restaurants or bigger stores.

We both used our Visa cards in the giftshop with no problem.

Debit cards are not used as much in the states as in Canada (Up here it's rare to find a store that doesn't take debit). But for stores that did take them we didn't have a problem. Our debit cards are HSBC and Vancity

By debit card do you mean eftpos? Just wondering if I can use by normal bank card with a pin number at retailers.. I know we can get out cash from ATMS if our cards have the 'plus symbol' (New Zealander here)

I've never heard of eftpos, but it sounds like the same thing. "Plus" system cards seem to be supported most places.

The wikipedia entry suggests that we are all talking about the same thing, just with different (regional) terminology

Our Gift Shop has Alta Dena Reduced Fat, and Vitamin D milk available! :]

Are you a fellow Canadian... Apparently they call Homo milk "Whole Milk" in the US and I "think" they call 2% something else too ( reduced fat) we didnt see 1% there at all on our trip!
