Cam not working?

The applet for iGoogle is now working. Go to your iGoogle home page and look for add stuff, search for disneyland webcam and add it. Now it will come up every time you open iGoggle on whatever browser you use like Firefox. Opera or Safari browser. For whatever reason it doesn't seem to work in IE8, it loaded but I didn't get a picture. Thats Ok since I do not use IE8. A big THANK YOU goes to the person who originally created the applet a few years for the iGoogle page and the iGoogle applet worked until the new camera & feed was installed recently. I contacted the person that created it a few months ago to see if they could fix it & they have been working to get it "fixed" for some time and they notified me yesterday that it was.

A BIG BIG THANK YOU goes to Erin for all the work involved in getting this important part of many of our daily lives working again, now we can see the Happiest Place on Earth each time you open your browser, mine is right next to the Weather Bug applet for Anaheim so I can keep track of the warm weather there versus Seattle's. Yes it is cloudy, cool and a bit of rain, hail or snow today, hard to tell.

Can someone help me??
My mattercam is not working.... my partner did some upgrade on my laptop and since then mattercam will not load. Something to do with Vista i think. It just keeps loading but nothing comes up to watch

How do you access the camera, with the iGoogle gadget or directly with the HoJo website?

Also what does it say or what do you see when it tries to load or finally stops if it does, any info would help finding the problem.

on my laptop directly from hojo website, it just doesnt stop trying to load i get everything else on the page but the square in the middle for the cam. I've checked live cams like the san diego zoo's elephant cam etc. and i can still get those no problem so i'm more just frustrated that i cant get the mattercam. my son has a laptop and works off the same modem and he can load it no problem... so obviously something strange with mine.

The camera uses Adobe Flash. You might try the following:

• Clear the cache memory from your browser
• Reinstall Flash at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
• Try another browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, Etc.)

Thanks for your suggestions, i've spent a few hours un-installing, re-installing checking other browsers and everything else is working but mattercam i think my frustration levels may just not survive me continuing to try.... i guess i'll have to be satisified with the fact we'll be heading in that direction in 15 days and i can see it for myself!

I have the Disneyland Webcam on my desktop, it is a gadget on my iGoogle home page. You can have that if you have an Google e mail address, I use Google g mail because I don’t have to depend on whomever I ahve for an ISP and when I change to a different one my email stays the same address, iGoogle works with many e mail programs, I use Thunderbird for my email program. So anytime I open my browser (Firefox) it opens to my iGoogle home page with the webcam gadget in the upper right of my homepage. IGoogle has many Disney gadgets you can add on, you can place a gadget anyplace on the homepage that you want. There was a problem with that gadget when HoJo changed the camera program but I contacted the person that created the gadget (see earlier posts) and she worked with the HoJo Mgr J Whitehead and got it fixed. I have had this as many others do for a few years now.

I find this much easier to see the Park than going to the HoJo webpage.

Disneyland Webcam

Runs the HoJo Matterhorn webcam applet. The webcam is theirs. I only made this little gadget to let their fans run it on iGoogle.

If you do go to the iGoogle home page type setup you can also add many Disney gadgets to the home page each gadget varies in size from 1X3 to 3X3 inches.
If it was a Vista update you could try restoring the laptop to an earlier time if you havent allready, I have done this many time but sometimes it doesn't make any difference.

Thanks for that i can now get mattercam on igoogle you are a STAR!!
i didnt realise how easy it would be to do that and had a google email from my phone so even easier!!

Glad it worked out, nothing like losing the ability to see the park when you want to. My wife was upset when HoJo made the change to the new programming and it quit, it took Erin quite a while to get it fixed. Check my earlier post on this subject March 4, 2011. I somehow came across her site and wrote to her many months ago as they had made a change on the camera and my iGoogle wouldn't work then either and then earlier this year the new camera and I was out again. It took a few months for her and some Tech folks she knows to fix it. She would like to get the black bands at the top and bottom out and is still working on it. I don't know her personally as I live outside of Seattle and she is on the East coast but she is very computer savvy, lucky for us.

My wife and I were at the Park and stayed at the HoJo in late Nov last year as we usually do. We have stayed there since 1991 I believe. We have also stayed at the Disney Hotel twice as well a 1 or 2 others but for the money I don’t believe you can beat the Howard Johnson Anaheim Plaza. My wife is very particular and she gives the rooms her approval and the staff is nice and most of all provides excellent customer service Mr. Whitehead should be proud of his staff.

Again I'm happy it all worked out, nothing more frustrating than having something working five minutes ago and then spending hours or days trying to get it back. Been there, done that enough times.
