I Must Be Mad!!

I wish I could take a video camera into the arena, but unfortunately, they are denied. Understandable from NHL's point of view. BUT, I will be getting video of him unwrapping his gifts and while we are there, so will post what I can on you tube. It sounds like the people who came to see me at the Ducks game for my birthday are going to come to see Doug for his, as she ended her e-mail with....."It will be good to see you both again!" Hmmmm, interesting. NOW, to add a twist, I am in the process of working on the 12 days of Christmas gifts for him, a gift a day for 12 days, with the last day being the big one. The first 2 ideas I have so far is.....a rubber duck (for the Ducks game), and a toy teacup (for the teacup ride).

It was so funny tonight, he knows we are busy during those three days in January, and he complained that we would miss the Ducks game on tv (most stations in Canada don't air it, so we have the NHL center ice package.) He asked if where ever we were, if there was a sports bar nearby that might possibly televise it. I told him yes, but that we had plans for that night, so he would not be able to get to the sports bar anyways ROFL. Little does he know, it will be because the plans I have is to be AT THE GAME. Oh, this is soooo funny.

Just wanted to say I think it's cool what your doing for your hubby. I've thought about doing it for mine but it hasn't worked out. Last time we were down his team (Flames) played the California teams two days after we left. This year we are coming down in April for his 30th birthday which also happens to be the last regular season game...in Vancouver. We are still there for a week after but the likelihood of playoffs starting that fast and them playing each other... We try to go every year so maybe on time I'll be able to surprise him.

Your guys going to have a blast and he's going to be in for such a surprise.

just as a side note i'm sure you know...west-ed can't substitute Disneyland no matter how hard you try. trust me i've tried... a lot ... only 2.5 hour drive. I wish Disneyland was that close.

We went to a Ducks pre-season home game for my birthday in September, all I can say is keep checking the schedule, even the pre-season wasn't suppose to start until after we left, then it changed, and they had a game the day before we went home, so it can happen. I just check the schedule whenever we go, since I am a huge Ducks fan, I wouldn't want to miss an opportunity.

Oh ya, I know West Ed can't ever take the place of Disneyland, but he would never think I would take the time or $$$ to go for 3 days LOL, so I am just keeping him on the same track.

This will be the first time ever since 1993 that I have stayed at Hojo's without asking for a park view or Garden pool view room, so I am curious as to where we will end up. I didn't bother upgrading since it's just 2 nights.

I went onto Disboards to ask for more ideas, they came up with some good stuff, a plastic sabre from a drink (the sword), for Buffalo Sabres, an orange for Orange county, plastic bugs for A bugs land, so we are good now I think. I have a whole package of the plastic swords, as I buy them for entertaining, so I will wrap one up, I will get a california orange closer to the time, from my work, and my mom teaches school, so she has a ton of plastic bugs hehe. I am thinking of making this into a 12 day advent calendar.
I just checked ticketmaster, and the hockey tickets have been printed and are on their way here, YIPPEE!! I work tonight, then the next two off, so going to the travel agent on Thursday to sign, not sure if she will have everything already there (vouchers and such), but I am hoping, then this will all be done, just have to book the kennel for the dog, have to call them soon, we always get him the deluxe package LOL

I went yesterday to sign for everything with the travel agent, and picked up our travel insurance, where I promptly came home and put them in a cozy little hiding place. This is killing me, Christmas needs to get here soon before I explode. I am awaiting our work schedules for that time, he will most likely work through Christmas, whereas I have it off, so I am hoping I get the 23rd off with him, and we will do the christmas thing that day.

I have my work schedule, and managed to get the 23rd of December off. DH works all through Christmas, as he is a nurse, so no chance of getting Christmas off this year. Soooo, we are having our Christmas with the family on December 23rd. I have made his advent calendar, and it is titled "the 12 days of Christmas until your birthday gift." Day 12 holds the hockey tickets, which are non other than his birthday gift. He will open that on the morning of the 23rd. I still am waiting to hear from the travel agent on picking up the airline vouchers, hotel vouchers, DLR vouchers and bus transfers. Once I have them, I will wrap them up, and they will go over to my parents house, where we will be going for the good part of the day on the 23rd. I plan on letting him unwrap the airline tickets in the morning over there, and then being really mean, and not giving him the hotel/bus/DLR vouchers until dinner time, or just before. I'm going to pretend that I accidentally forgot about them hehe.

I spoke to a person we know that works for the Ducks, and they are going to put a birthday message on the Jumbotron after first period, as well as come personally to our seats and wish him a happy birthday. I also have made ressies at Goofy's kitchen for a birthday breakfast for him on the 20th, and they said they will be announcing his birthday while we are there, how exciting.

The only down side.....it looks like the weather has taken a turn for the worse. Rain it seems is in the forcast. Here's hoping that changes and we see some warm sunny weather.
