I have a Whole day spare on Monday 29th Nov (before we head off to see the hockey), Any ideas on what to do, were not heading out to DL or Universal studios till later in the week...

We can't wait to see you, either!

There is a shopping center called Garden Walk that is very close by. You can walk there, or take the ART Shuttle. And there is also a larger [it's huge, really!] outdoor mall area called The Block at Orange. You couldn't walk there, but it is close by and I believe there are shuttles/buses that you could take! Just let our Front Desk know when you arrive what you're looking for- they will have lots of recommendations! :]

We'll see you soon!

Plenty of shopping opportunities, as the lovely Lorealle stated, the Anaheim GardenWalk is nearby, a few blocks if you walk, or you could use the ART shuttle system, but it does require taking 2 ARt Routes (one from HoJo's to Disneyland, and then from Disneyland to GardenWalk). The HoJo's Front desk does sell an all day ART pass for $4.

Also nearby is Downtown Disney, another Shoppertainment mall just west of the parks Main Entrance Plaza (no admission fee).

The Block of Orange is not within walking distance. You can take the ART system again, but the route that goes to the Block of Orange only runs once per hour. You other option is the local Bus service, OCTA. You would take the Route 43 South that goes down Harbor Blvd. (Nearest stop is in front of Disneyland, under the Monorail tracks on Harbor Blvd. to the corner of Harbor and Chapman to Route 54 east, this combination runs about twice an hour (the 43 runs more often than the 54). $4 for an all day pass, just buy it the first time you borad (stick $4 in the fare machine and ask the driver for an all day pass)

A more traditional Shopping mall is easy to get to from HoJo's. Route 83 goes from Disneyland straight to the Main Place Mall in Santa Ana in about 20 minutes.

If you like discount shopping, you could take OCTA Route 43 North about 3 miles to the corner of Harbor and Orangethorpe, where there are plenty of shops, including a Disney Charachater Warehouse, which sell surplus Disney Parks merchandise, plus many other options. Also, there is a Henry's Farmers Market on one of the 4 corners so you could pick up a few items for your room, such as drinks and snacks.

One more is the Buena Park Mall, this is near Knott's Berry Farm. You catch the bus at the corner of Harbor and Manchester at the light, near the HoJo's sign. The bus is an LA Metro route 460. Since the LA Metro day pass is more expensive, you would pay $1.50 each way, or combine it with a trip using the OCTA system on the same day. The Metro bus driver will honor an OCTA Day Pass (just show it to the driver). On the way back, you will be dropped off in front of DIsneyland (the main bus stop).
