Hi again :-)

Here's the place where you can get to know the other board members, offer helpful travel hints and just generally have a merry old time! Pull up a chair and have a spot of tea!

Hi again :-)

HI HoJos and HoJo fans :D

It's been awhile since I was last here (finally managed to log in again) but thought since we are planning a return trip I thought I'd pop in and see what's going on in HoJo land

Please correct me if I am wrong but 2015 is HoJo's 50th year?!? My family and i thought this would be the perfect time to re-visit :D :D I am getting so excited already, even though it's a few years away!! :o

We are thinking of coming in January which is part of our longest school break and as my children are at school and I work for a school this is our best time. Now I do realise it is your Winter so aome advice on weather would be great. :D

Also, we plan to visit the theme parks - Disney, Knotts, Six Flags etc...... We also are thinking about hiring a car and driving on the "wrong" side of the road    This way we can visit parks in or own time :)

I look forward to taking this journey again with everyone and know I will be a regular here for quite awhile!

Hi kel77!

Yay, can't wait to have you with us. YES :o ... the HoJo turns 50 in 2015! So exciting. Definitely a great time to come.

January is a mixed bag, but a good time to come. The pros: small crowds, cheaper rates. The cons: shorter operating hours at the parks, cooler and threat of rain. But if you're like me, I think the smaller crowds make up for the shorter hours as you can get on more rides in a shorter time. Bring layers and a rain jacket. You may not need it but nice to have. You'll need the layers in the evening when it cools off.

If you end up not hiring a car, you can still get to all the other theme parks via the Gray Line tours (http://www.GrayLineAnaheim.com/).

Talk soon! :D

Thanks for the reply :) Smaller crowds are a definate plus, last time we were there the crowds were enormous! I am thinking that California would have a similar climate to Queensland (where I am). It's around 19-21C (66-69F) during the Winter but not as cold as other states of Australia ie; no snow. Fingers crossed the rain stays away and I guess if we need to buy extra clothes we'll just have to go shopping!!

I've done some research into the Grayline tours and they sound like a good option if we decide not to hire a car. Do I need to book before I come or can I book once we are there? We really want to go with the flow and not be booked into anything (except HoJo's ofcourse!) :D

I know we're not coming for a few years but I kinda like to be totally organised (once I am on holiday it's completley different :D ) and I just know the time will fly by and will be here before we know it.

Oh and last time we visited our travel agent could only book a standard room, we called to upgrade to a Disney view and paid the difference on arrival. Is this the same with the Kid's Suites? If so how far in advance do they book out and can you give me a rough estimate of what the difference in cost is per night please. We plan to stay 3 weeks :)

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Kel!

Yes indeed, you can buy any tours once you arrive to give you the most flexibility. They can take ressies the day before or even the day of in most cases. Of course they always prefer 48 hours if you are able to.

And yes, you sure can upgrade to any room type above a Standard if it's open. Suites included. Once you get your booking, just email our in-house reservations team at stay@hojoanaheim.com with your confirmation information and ask them to check on upgrade options for you. They'll get you sorted. The earlier the better on those Kid's Suites as they go fast. But sounds like you are SUPER organized and will be booked early.

There are only 14 Kid's Suites so they do move fast. They have sold out 90 days in advance and in some cases a year (especially during AUS school holidays, our summer, Easter/Spring, etc.). January isn't quite a busy so you are in a better position.

 The CURRENT upgrade fee for the Kid's Suites is $30+ tax per night (subject to change).

Happy planning and you know where to find us! ;)

Thanks for the info :)

We plan to stay for a few weeks so I'm sure if we booked a tour we'd be able to give notice :)

Thank you also for the info on the kid's suites, I will be sure to book mine as soon as I have my confirmation (which will be around July/August 2013!!! :o  ) Really looking forward to seeing and staying in them.
