We will be visiting (from New Mexico) Disneyland and staying at the HOJO in late August actually 45 more days!!!! SOOO Excited !!! Our vacation is for 8 days not including the travel time to Cal and back to New Mexico. We were planning on spending 5 days in the park and maybe going down to SeaWorld. My question is how far is San Diego from where we will be staying and would it be wise to continue our stay at the HOJO or should we plan on staying in San Diego?
We did the Grayline Tour to San Diego in June. It was about 2.5 hours to San Diego, leaving Anaheim about 9 am. Not completely sure on times there, but I know we walked in the gate and went right to the Shamu show. We left Sea World at 6:30 pm and got back to Anaheim between 8-8:30. Traffic was worse going down than it was going back. We were in a bus, so you could definitely make better time in a car. It was a long day, but very fun. As for staying near SW, I have no advice there.
We went there at the end of our Disneyland holiday and did Seaworld then spent the night in San Diego ( not at the HoJo I actually read some MUCH different (not good) reviews of the San Diego Hojo) Then we did the Zoo for 1/2 the day the next day and left for home
*** we had a "Southern California Citypass" which gave us 3 days at DL a day at Universal ( drove there) a day at Sea World and a choice of either San Diego Zoo or Wild Animal park for a MUCH reduced rate over buying all that seperatly. We bought it at a Californian Costco for even more savings, it was a GREAT deal
