Hi, I recently booked a kids suite room on your website for 4 nights in late October. After booking I found these forums and now I am not sure I have booked the best room for us. Could someone please give me some advise. My children will be 2 and 3 when travelling. Our priorities were a room that we could put the children to bed, close the door and have a chat or a drink in the evening and I would also really have liked a room with a view of the fireworks - I am a little concerned about the noise aspect mentioned on here in the kid suites. Are there any rooms that have a seperate annexed off area for the children that have firework views? From looking at the vid on here it appears the queen suite allows doors to be closed between areas of room. Is there a premium on these rooms over kidsuites and can you see fireworks from them? Also, is it true that you only have one king suite? My other question is that our flight on day of departure from LA to Sydney leaves at 10.30 at night - is there any way a late checkout can be organised for this day as we will have 2 exhausted little children if they dont get nap. Thank you in advance.
Thanks so much for choosing the HoJo for your holiday! We are lucky to be an Aussie favorite and I hope you'll make us your home-away-from-home for all future Disneyland trips!
Great questions you brought up and I'm sure others have similar questions. Here is the breakdown for the suites:
* 14 Kids Suites (all on highway side of Tower building (building #1) * 1 King Suite (the ONLY suite to offer Disney/fireworks views, on the Disney side of Tower building (bld #1) * 1 Queen Suite (the most space/bedding of the suites, faces the Garden Pool, no Disney/fireworks views).
All of the suites offer a closing door so you can use the other side of the suite when the kid's are in bed. I think based on your comments and your family size, that the King Suite would be the best option. But since there is just the one, it may or may not be gone. It is slightly more expensive than the Kids Suites. If you don't mind, send our in-house reservations team an email to stay@hojoanaheim.com so they can look to see if the other suite is open for your dates and if the fees are agreeable to you. Just paste in our discussion here so they are up to speed.
Now, if that suite is occupied over your dates, I still think you will really enjoy the Kids Suite, barring the Disney view issue. I'll bet some readers of our boards will have some feedback for you from their experiences. Here is one guest's remarks from our "Trip Reports" section here.
From your building you can go out to Castaway Cove (near you) and watch the fireworks from there. Here's the map that shows building one's distance to Castaway Cove: MAP
Now on to the late check out question. A late check out is a complete function of the occupancy on the day that you are departing. Especially if you are in a room type that we have very few of, there may be a family ready to check in that morning so we need to begin the cleaning process right at check out time (midday). Once you arrive to the hotel, you can have a chat with the Front Desk staff so they can monitor and advise if a late check out is possible based on the arrivals on your departure day.
You may also guarantee a late check out by paying a half or full day rate depending upon your needs. Half day rate is until 3PM, full day rate is anytime past 3PM. In either case you would just contact our reservations department and extend your reservation by one day and we would note whether it was half or full on our end.
We can always store all of your luggage for you beginning at check out time and then you can utilize that entire day to go back into the Disney parks or to maybe add on a day tour around the area or a shopping excursion.
That was a lot to digest. Let me know how you go and send in that email to our reservations team to look into the suite options for you. My little elf fingers are crossed for you.
Have a magical day!
HoJo Elf Humble employee, answering your HoJo/Disney questions LIVEfrom a hollow tree at the HoJo!
G'Day HoJo Elf, thank you so much for taking the time to write such an amazing response. You answered all my questions perfectly. I feel so much better about the kid suite now, having read your response and other customers reviews. The king suite is unfortunately booked for the days that we will be staying, however knowing that we can trot outside and watch the fireworks from Castaway Cove if we are not in the park is a great help. The queen suite was available, but we decided to stick with kids suite anyway. We are really looking forward to visiting you, your place looks great online!! We will be in USA for 7 weeks (RV'ing most of it - Yosemite, Yellowstone, Canyons etc) - reliving our honeymoon of 12 years ago but now with 2 little ones ! We are hoping it will be the first of many great adventures with the kids Thanks once again for you wonderful help and see you in October.
