Best way from SNA

Hi, we are traveling with a 4 year old in April. What is the best way to Hojo from SNA Aiprort? We are renting a car from National. Is that far from you? Is it worth it to pay double to rent the car from the airport? We are going to the beach on our last day and need to return the car to National by Disneyland, is the a good idea or is there a more convienent way?

First off, the National office (which shares its space with Alamo, a sister company) is on Katella Avenue, just west of Harbor, so a bit of a walk, but doable. Many Rental Car companies now offer to pick you up for free, so you might want to call and ask.

But why National, and why in the Resort Area?

Why not just rent a car from John Wayne Airport (and yes, they do rent Car Seats for an extra fee, which you will need when you drive in California with a 4 year old). I like using Hotwire.com, as you can type in your exact dates and see the deal they offer.

If you are planning to go to the airport from the Beach, this is a great option, as the Airport is closer to the ocean than Disneyland.

Parking is free at HoJo's for Hotel Guests, and I would just leave in the lot and walk to Disneyland.

As for getting to HoJo's without a rental car, the most common option is a Taxi Cab, as there is no wait, and they go straight to your hotel. About $45 each way.

Other options are the Disneyland Express Airport Bus

Or the Shuttle Vans, both are a few dollars cheaper for a group of 3, but you could be waiting for the Vans to fill up (or the depature time for the bus) and then who knows which stop you are on the way to HoJo's, you might get lucky and be first, or you could spend and extra 30 minutes dropping off others.

We are finding car rentals are more than 1/2 off in the Disneyland area vs the Aiport.

As stated, you are looking at least $50, if not more in extra costs getting to and from the airport to HoJo's.

Have you checked the Hotwire rates for John Wayne on your dates of travel?

I just checked this weekends rates, $18.95 to $24.95 for basic cars, depending on the size.
