Disney Parks Outlet Store

Postby Darkbeer » Fri Mar 07, 2008 1:27 pm

One of my favorite suggestions for guests staying in the Anaheim Area is a short trip to a large area that has a lot of Stores and a variety of Restaurants, that includes the "Disney's Character Warehouse", which mainly carries discontinued merchandise from the Disney Parks shops.

It is easy to get to, driving, just make a right leaving the HoJo's parking lot, and then a right onto Harbor at the Traffic Light. Go about 3 miles north on Harbor until you get to Orangethorpe (just past the 91 freeway). Make a Right onto Orangethorpe, then right into the shopping center at the next light. You should see the big sign.

Or you can take a taxi.

Or you could use the Public bus, OCTA Route 43 runs up and down Harbor about every 15 minutes most of the day, and cost $1.25 each way (or you can buy an all day pass for $3, just ask for one when you board the first bus of the day from the driver). The nearest bus stop is next to the Main Disneyland Pedestrian Crosswalk. You will want to go north, so stay on the "Hotel" side of the street to catch the bus. Takes about 20 minutes to go one way. (There is also a stop at the corner of Harbor and Ball, if you decide to grab a cup of coffee at Starbucks first. You just need to make a right at the traffic light on the corner of HoJo's, and cross the freeway using the bridge. The first main street after crossing the freeway is Ball Road.)

The bus stop to get off at is right in front of an In-n-Out Burger, one of my favorite fast food locations. The bus driver also announces (or a recorded voice) Orangethorpe, so you shouldn't get lost.

There are plenty of other shops in the area, including a Target, a Costco and a Henry's Grocery Store (similar to Whole Foods).

So take a few hours away from the parks, and go grab a Double-Double Cheeseburger and a Shake from In-n-Out, do some shopping, and then come back to HoJo's to relax.

We found the store to be ok for some things. Lots of tshirts and things for women but not so much for men or kids. I think that their stock and selection probably varies though depending on what they have. It was good but you really need to have a good look around to see what is there. We went to the Disney Character store in Orlando and there is no comparison. The one in Orlando is much, much better organized and has a much better selection than this store.

Hi There!

We're arriving late (around 6pm) on a Tuesday, how late are the Outlet Store, Costco, Henry's, Target open during the week? ... we were also thinking of continuing on the bus further to Albertson's but Costco may do the trick for a jug of milk :)

As well, do most stores / restaurants take all major credit cards?

Thanks again for your help!

Hi Prince7!

Welcome to the Boards!

Most stores/restaurants do take major credit cards- so you should be fine! Target and Costco and the grocery stores will definitely be open at 6p when you arrive. I think most of the places are open at least until 9p.

If you don't have time to get down to Costco- our Gift Shop does have milk to help carry you over to the next day! :D

Hope this helps!

>>The Disney Stores are owned and run by the Children’s Place. <<

Actually, that is no longer true. Disney bought back the rights from Children's Place, and now Disney owns and operates the Disney Store Chain.
