Best shopping?

Hi, myself and my partner Sean, are heading over from New Zealand for 10 days late October, early November. As we are pretty tight with our schedule (given how many theme parks I want to hit!) I was wondering if anyone can recommend a great mall or shopping area that we could spend the day to get all the shopping I want to do done? We won't have a rental car, so this is could limit us somewhat?

There are a lot of great stores to shop in at Downtown Disney, but there is also the Main Place Mall and The Block at Orange that are close enough that a taxi would not be too terribly expensive!

Hi Guys,
I'm also a Kiwi, heading to HOJOs late Sept. Our favourite places to shop are Mainplace (a great Mall, everything a Kiwi would want) and you can't miss Marshall's - every woman's dream shop!! There is one directly North on Harbour Boulevard at Orangefair, only a few minutes by taxi. If you've never heard of Marshall's before, it has designer clothes, shoes and housewares at a fraction of their usual cost. Check it out if you have time!!

Thanks Pennym, that's really helpful. I lived in the US about 9 years ago (although in a different state) and I'm keen to pick up a lot of old faourite items. Thank goodness for the 64kg luggage allowance

I am a Canadian, so not familiar with the US holidays. I am wondering if malls and shops are open on Columbus Day?

All are open, some will have special Columbus Day sells.

About the only 2 days a year stores close in the USA are Thanksgiving (late November) and Christmas. But even those two days you can find some stores open in recent years.
