Ride Refurb's

Postby dsnytrp4 » Sat Dec 06, 2008 8:26 am

Hi there - we are going to be in the park March 13 - 21,2009. Wondering if anyone knows the ride closure/refurb schedule for that week? I know nothing is written in stone on the varous sites I have visited, but it looks as though Pirates is being closed in mid. February...anyone have any idea how long it might be out for?

The Disney site itself would be the most accurate. If you go to their parks page and then the calender feature you can put in dates. I have found they usually have info about 3 months in advance. We are going in April and they don't have info yet.

Thinking of California is nice when it was snowing today! (I see your from Vancouver also!)

Alas, Disneyland.com is not always kept up to date, and has had many mistakes in the past.

Currently they only have about 1 months worth of information, as it only goes through mid-January.

Also, Disney does change the schedule regularly, as other projects can force changes to other scheduled projects.

I happen to be the writer of Monday at the Parks at MiceAge.com, a very well known website that follows Disney, especially Theme Parks and unofficial information and rumors, plus the current news.

I try and keep up on both what is told to the public, and what is told to Cast Members (usually more detailed and farther in advance than DIsneyland.com).

One good thing about March, it is a very busy time at Disneyland, and Disney does try and not close too many things when large crowds are expected.

You will find work being performed in the Paradise Pier Lagoon at DCA in March, with the Sun Wheel being closed and getting changed over to Mickey's Fun Wheel. Also, the Paradise Pier Lagoon will more than likely be drained, and some of the shops and games might be closed to allow for remodeling of the area.

But things need to be repaired and fixed, and it has to happen sometime.
Check out my weekly "Friday in the Parks" column at http://www.MiceAge.com

Thanks for the info Darkbeer i missed your column last week!

how far in advance do you get your information? i am away in europe before coming to Disneyland and HoJo's so i will not be able to access this information.

I chose March because i thought it would be quiet obivously not and with only 3 days i hope i can do everything i want in DL and DCA

Hi there - We are big fans of your Monday in the Park postings... we will keep checking for new info. We are on the "less than 3 months til we go" countdown. Lots of snow in Vancouver today, can't wait for the sun!
