Tours from Howard Johnson

Postby iris64 » Thu Mar 27, 2008 6:34 am

Hi, we are arriving on the 28 June 08 staying at the Howard Johnson. We would like to go for the Sea World San Diego tour, The Universal Tour and the movie star home and sight seeing in LA.If we book from your hotel does that mean that we will be pick up and drop off at the Howard Johnson? And do we need to pre-book the tour or can we do it on arrival. We will be staying at this hotel for 9 days.
Please advice us.
Thank you.

Yes this is something that I would like to know, everyone has said to book everything and get your tickets before we go. Do we need to do this or is it the same price as waiting until we arrive at the hotel?

Thanks,
Ann

The way the Gray Line Tours work (they are the largest provider in the area, and tend to have the best deals in most cases, sometimes even free bus trip if you buy a full priced admission ticket to the location. I think it is currently SeaaWorld San Diego that has that offer.

http://graylineanaheim.com/sightseeing_tours_main.cfm

The way they work is that you call and reserve your seat on a specific day (you can get discounts on buying tickets in advance online). They will give you a time to catch a bus in front of HoJo's. That bus might also stop at a few other locations, and then drive to the Anaheim Dispatch center, which is about one mile south of HoJo's. You then check in and are assigned to a specific bus, what this does is allows the bus that picks up at HoJo's to get folks who plan to go on many tours, and then combine the local pick up buses to go to specific locations.

Works the same way on the way back in most cases, if not, then the bus driver will go to all the specific hotels requested (such as if a bus arrives late).

Check the link above for more info.

that's what i was a little confused about. i purchased the 4 day unlimited pass from grayline and printed my tickets at home and it said a bus driver would pick me up at hojos and take me to the grayline bus center to exchange our ticket for a boarding pass. i'm glad to know it's not so far from our hotel.

just to follow up with my concern for the grayline tours. our trip is coming up(2 weeks now), and i called grayline to reassure myself about our 4 day pass we purchased. they said they have a booth @ the airport where i can show my print out voucher and they will give me a ticket booklet for my other days. i went ahead and my ressies for our days for the zoo, seaworld, and universal. they are picking us up right in front of the hotel every morning. i am so excited and this is saving us so much $ with the prices of fuel, etc.!!
looking forward to being in cali!!

We can book transfers for you via http://www.graylineanaheim.com at our Front Desk! The cost is $40 per person, round trip.

I hope this helps!

I have a question about tours from HoJo's. As an Australian I am struggling with your tax system (very different from ours ). The prices that I see on the Gray's line website - do they include tax ? :?:

This was a really good question! I didn't know the answer! :D

I called them and asked, and they told me that yes- the prices on their website are inclusive of tax.

Hope this helps!
