WestJet to offer service to SNA from Vancouver and Calgary

Postby Darkbeer » Fri Jan 28, 2011 9:31 am

Since I know many Canadians love to stay at HoJo's, this info might come in handy....

The Orange County Register reported yesterday that WestJet (a low priced Canadian airline) will start to service the John Wayne Airport from both Vancouver and Calgary later this year with daily service, Fares will statrt at $99 each way.

Vancouver service will start on May 2nd, 2011, and Calgary service will start on June 13th. One flight a day and both will use Boeing 737's.

FYI, US Customs will be handled at the Canadian airport, so no need for customs facilities in Santa Ana. (This is common practice, as it is easier and cheaper to staff just a few main Canadian Airports than a much large amount of US Airports that fly to Canada).

WOOHOO!! this is awesome....thankyou for posting! We were thinking of going with Aliegent out of Bellingham, but this is only $30. more each way, leaving from much closer to home! We've got our Hojo's rooms booked, now onto the flights! :D
Well they want $188 each way for our dates, as apposed to $65 through Aliegent. But it's a long way out yet, I've signed up for emails on sales, and if our dates come up in the next 9 months, I'll pounce! :)

That is awsome ! Would be so much nicer than to fly into LAX. And a great price too. I have always had a good experience with westjet. They are professional and fun to fly with.

Hey Darkbeer! Love your Micechat!

Unfortunately there are no good prices right now for when we want to travel (October 5 - October 14, 2012) that come near to $99 each way from YVR (Vancouver, BC) to Orange County. I sure would LOVE to fly from home and not have to drive 3 hours to cross border and fly from Seattle!! Fingers crossed that they bring $99 each way in for us for flying from home!! Especially because we are travelling with kids! :D
