Anaheim GardenWalk is now OPEN!

Yesterday, the new large Shopping/Entertainment Mall just south of the Howard Johnson's quietly opened to the public.

Alas, only one store was ready and opened for business (The Sketchers Store).

But most stores are expected to open in about 2 weeks.

This is a great new addition to the Anaheim Resort area.

We never did get to the Garden Walk. We didn't rent a car because all of our other trips were done with bus transportation. We had thought of going there to go to the Bubba Gumps Shrimp restaurant but it was way too far a walk for us having the kids and walking so much around Disneyland (we were too tired and opted to just order in on our available night).

We are probably about a 15 minute walk to GardenWalk.

We ventured over there to only find about 4 stores open, with restaurants open on the outer area by the street. NOT WORTH THE WALK!! ...yet...

As a local Anaheim resident we have been to Garden Walk several times. My impression so far the shopping center is a great place to eat lunch of dinner, however for shopping it seems to be a dud.
Most of the eatery's are located on the Katella side of the mall and that's where most people tend to hang out. A walk through the mall is good for window shopping and not much more. Even on the weekend the place is a ghost town. The bowling alley is on the lower parking garage level tucked away back in a corner( not good for walk in traffic). I can see some of the stores going out of businesses in a few months especially the ones located on the upper level. A great place to eat, shopping look elsewhere.
