AP rate-when to show the AP card?

Postby bellbell » Thu May 22, 2008 11:29 am

Hello,
We are planning to obtain regular Disney tickets that have no black out days and upgrade them to AP on the last day. Do I need to show the AP card at the time of check in or can I show it on the last day and still get AP rate?

Thanks!

Hello bellbell!

This is a great question! Thank you for asking it!

Our Front Desk Staff needs to see whatever membership card [Annual Pass, Entertainment Card, AAA card, AARP card, etc] at your time of check-in in order to honor your discount.

I hope this helps!

Hi,
Can you present Annual Pass e-tickets on check-in (i.e before you have had them changed into Annual Passes on first entering the park.)? We have our Annual Passes all ready to go, but will be checking in before heading to the Park to get our 'proper' Annual Passes. Also, do you have to book using this discount? We booked several months ago, but have just purchased our Annual Passes ready for our trip. Can we still get the discount?

Thanks!

Hi Penny!

You can definitely present your e-ticket at check in, because that verifies that you have, in fact, purchased an Annual Pass, and are a Passholder! So you will be all set!

Also, you actually don't have to book with the discount! If you booked at a regular rate, or at a discount that's lower than the 20% discount that Annual Passholders get, just give our In-House Reservations Team a call at 714-776-6120 and we can take care of that for you!

I hope this helps!

Hi, did I understand the last post correctly that you can get the annual pass discount on top of another discount?

Hi kkcarlis!

Actually, you can't combine discounts at all. I'm sorry for the confusion! :\

I'd like to check to be sure the AP rate doesn't require a Premium AP, but that I can get it with a Deluxe AP. I'm planning to upgrade to a PAP later. Can you tell me if I get the AP discount with a DAP?

Thanks!

Hello Lorealle,

This is not what I was told when I made my reservation a couple of months ago. The man who I made my reservation with said that even if I purchase my APs a few days into my stay, the AP rate could still be applied to my whole stay (6 days). I confirmed this with him and also called back a few days later and confirmed with someone else. This is very important for my travel plans, as I want to use my park hopper's magic morning before I upgrade to APs, and my decision to stay at HoJo was dependent on the discount. That's why I checked so many times! :)

Hi Q.E.:

Well, we've thought it over and decided to simplify things for everybody! Here's our new official HoJo policy:

The Annual Pass may be presented at any time (including checkout), and the discount rate will be applied to all nights in which the discount is eligible. If the reservation was booked at a different rate or discount and the AP is presented at check-out or during the stay, then the discount applied will be based on the AP discount (either the 20% or the ~50%) which was available on the date of arrival.

I hope this helps to clarify things! See you soon.
